What is custom software?

Custom software is code expressly written for a unique application.This could be as simple as raising a garage door with a cell phone call, or as complex as monitoring and controlling hundreds of devices in a two million square foot convention center.

 

Why use custom software?

This allows a client freedom to choose from a large number of Audio, Video and Lighting products to be controlled, without concern for manufacturer.

 

Who should use custom software? 

Anyone! It does not matter if a project is large or small, sometimes the best solution is custom software.

 

What language will be used?

C++ will be used most of the time

 

What about hardware?

The beauty of custom software is that there are fewer hardware constraints than with commercial control systems.If any device has a communication/control port, custom software can be written to communicate with, and control it.

 

How to get started

Getting started is easy!

1. Be very sure the end goal is clearly defined.  It is a good idea to have open dialog with TechSpa during this part of the project before moving on to step 2.  Defining the goal of control software is critical to the overall cost, time, and functionality.

2. Choose the equipment for the job.  The best equipment may not always be available due to project constraints, such as budget, time, equipment availability.  Again, TechSpa will be able to save a project time and money by assisting with equipment selection based on time and budget.

3. Provide TechSpa with the defined goal, equipment list, and relax!
