Crestron & AMX Software

What is Crestron & AMX programming ?

Crestron and AMX are two of the industry's leading manufacturers of control products.

Both companies specialize in manufacturing hardware solutions for a large range of control needs.  Each company has created proprietary software that operates and controls their hardware.

Crestron has a single program language called SIMPL Windows that operates all of their main processors, such as the Pro2 or AV2.  They also have a program called VisionToolsPro-e that is for the sole purpose of programming their touch panels.

AMX has two program languages, Axcess and NetLinx, that operates their main processors.  Axcess is the older of the languages and operates products such as Axcent3 Pro and AXF-Mini.  NetLinx, the newer language operates the newer processors such as the NI-4000 and the NXF-Mini.  For programming the AMX touch panels, they have TPDesign3 and TPDesign4 for older and newer models, respectively.

Why use TechSpa for Crestron & AMX programming?

The proprietary software created by these companies is the only programming language that will operate their devices.

TechSpa Control Department specializes in programming these brands to control other manufacturers products.

Who should use Crestron & AMX programming?

An example is a pub and grill type facility that is open for lunch, dinner and late night.   Lunchtime generally will be bright lights and background music set at moderate level.  At happy hour, music will be a little louder (or a lot louder!) and maybe the lights not quite as bright as for lunch.  A single control system with scheduling ability is the solution.  Manual control of all systems will be available also.

What language is used?

Both companies have created their own, unique language, that only works with the products they manufacture.

The Crestron program language is called SIMPL Windows that operates all of their main processors.  VisionToolsPro-e that is for the sole purpose of programming their touch panels.

What about hardware?

This software works only with each company,s hardware.

Getting started

Very easy!

1. Be very sure the end goal is clearly defined.  It is a good idea to have open dialog with TechSpa during this part of the project before moving on to step 2.  Defining the goal of control software is critical to the overall cost, time, and functionality.

2. Choose the equipment for the job.  The best equipment may not always be available due to project constraints, such as budget, time, equipment availability.  Again, TechSpa will be able to save a project time and money by assisting with equipment selection based on time and budget.

3. Provide TechSpa with the defined goal, equipment list, and relax!
